The Biggest Group

I don’t want to have the biggest group.

It’s not my goal to grow our campus ministry at the expense of all other campus ministries.

I don’t want to say that I’m a pastor at the biggest church.

First of all, it’s not true. So there’s no point saying that.

And secondly,

Biggest doesn’t mean anything. It could mean you’re very significant. Or it could mean you’re just the biggest of an insignificant set.

It’s a false achievement. An unnecessary benchmark. It shifts the focus to the wrong things and is breeding ground for unhealthy competition.

I do want to make disciples of all nations – to see God’s Kingdom come and will be done on earth as it is in heaven. I want to see Every Student on Every Campus in Every Nation reached with the Gospel of Jesus.

It can’t be done alone. To get there, I need to be part of team. It’s a blessing to have found this team in Every Nation.

But we need more. We need teams of teams working together, because the catch is too big.

We need disciples of all kinds working together. They’ll be different from one another – but as long as they call on the name of Jesus then they are our spiritual family and partners in this endeavor.

Some will be in vocational ministry, most will be in fields of business, medicine, education, the government, media, athletics, and many more. Many are students who won’t let anyone look down on them just coz they’re young.

We need to focus on mission rather than monuments, on cooperation rather than competition, on unity not uniformity.

If that’s your heartbeat, your mission, then more power to you. I’m praying for you as I write this – for all disciples of Jesus – that He will continue to energize us for this task. The thing worth giving our lives for till every knee bows and every tongue confesses that Jesus Christ is Lord.

I’m blessed to know amazing men and women in Victory, around Every Nation, and in some awesome churches outside are movement who are passionate about the same thing.

What a privilege it is to not just be saved for Heaven, but also saved for a mission. The mission of bringing the world back to God.
